It's coming and soon. The newly revised Antique & Collectible STANLEY TOOLS Guide to Identity and Value BOOK. Third edition 2014. Long awaited and worth waiting for, it's nearing completion --finally! (after hell and high water, literally)
I expect it will be over 1,000 pages easily. You'll find new Type Studies, all new price updates. Plus lots of new listings and new material added for existing items. Plenty of new and rare advertising items that will excite more than the playmate of the month. I've enlisted the talents of the nations leading experts to ensure accuracy that you can count on. You'll just love the expanded history chapter too, with dozens of new illustrations. Plus much much more...
The cover is done, ISBN's are locked in, still need bar codes, then run by the proof readers, copy editors and it will be ready by summer hopefully!
There will be both soft and hard covers editions as in the past. Plus kindle and ebook versions too.
What would you like to see in "your" new Stanley Book, open to anything you might think is interesting, so there's still a narrow window to make submissions...
Readers, thanks for your continued patience, support and patronage! It amazes me what used copies are bringing. You have voted me number one tool book with your dollars --which I still find surprising and rather flattering. Somebody made a lot of money on aftermarket sales. Now, I need your vote again in a timely manner to get me back on the press. Many or you have lamented, they wish they would have bought a case quantity, when comparing to what used copies are consistently fetching, as opposed to what their stocks or 401k's are doing.
Please note: many readers sent in SASE's years ago or sent emails to me at The Old Tool Shop in Marietta, Ohio --wanting to be contacted when a new edition is ready. I regret to inform those, that much of that information was lost or ruined when the Ohio river rose up 44 feet over it's banks and flooded out the historic downtown riverfront district.
If you would like to receive an advertising flyer to order the new edition, please send a SASE to...

It's January 2013, getting the year off to a great start for Stanley Tool enthusiasts! Watch for online ordering details soon. I'll get to filling in all the blanks here as things proceed closer toward getting "pressed" within the next few months.
I'll be using a well established printer that handles internet order taking and shipping, fulfillment services that will include a shopping cart with SSL security and all that jazz. Phone orders will also be accepted by their operators for your convenience.
The FIRST EDITION will be a "Print on Demand" press run, which means if you order and pay in advance. You will get a book simply put. With book stores closing, the publishing industry has changed considerably sense I last re-printed way back in 96.
Pre-sales are not authorized from any dealers. I will accept wholesale purchase orders from established vendors who have dealt with me in the past for now. Your retail orders will take first priority, only then will any extra copies be released after 30 days. This will be the only online site where orders will be authorized (when ready) Pre-sales will be taken in advance, check back for ordering details soon.
Although being on Amazon's "Best Seller" list in the past, they will only carry a kindle version. Mail order vendors such as Woodcraft Supply, Lee Valley and such will offer this title eventually.
Only paid in advance orders will get first editions. (same as last time, except no extra's this time)
This is the official site and only site authorized by John Walter for this new title. Beware of copy cats, pirates or imitators.
